Inspired by Blogs....

Yesterday, I saw this sympathy card on Julia Aston's blog and found it very inspiring! I thought it could be adapted and used for all sorts of occasions.

So yesterday afternoon, I spent some time playing with my things :0) - again!

A little detail shot - I added lots of Stickles to the flower outlines.

Materials: Cardstock, Stamps, Ink, Patterned Paper all Papertrey Ink. Also Versamark and White Embossing Powder

Marge had left me a message the other day asking (from her own experience) if I was enjoying the way Papertrey things match so beautifully and the answer is YES, YES, YES!! ....when I look at a finished PTI project it just makes me feel *good* all over - YUM! I'm experiencing paper crafting BLISS!

To everyone who has been sweet enough to leave some blogging love over the past few days - THANK YOU! I know it takes extra time - and it has been very much appreciated.

I can't believe we are in the final day of 2009! One of the children said that we are in the "final day of single end digits for a thousand years!" Quite a thought!

I pray that 2010 will be a wonderful year for all of you. Have a wonderful day today, and a fabulous YEAR ahead :0)

Best Wishes!

Baby Card

Yesterday I was browsing some blogs and found a sweet baby card here which linked to another sweet card here and really loved the colours.
Then I had a peek in at Claire's blog here and loved her elegant card.
Well, putting different ideas together, this is what I came up with - it took far longer than I thought, but I'm quite happy with the result!

Materials: Cardstock, Stamps, Button, Ink all Papertrey Ink, except stitching stamps - Technique Tuesday

Thanks for stopping in!

Have a wonderful day :0) !

How is everyone doing? Still celebrating or getting back to daily life?

I'm playing with my cardstock, stamps and ink - and having a LOT of fun :0)! (My family is being very patient!)

My "Hunkadorus" (hubby) is a wonderful tease. He has always said he loves every colour in the world - so long as it's white. So I'm making all sorts of colourful creations like this one -

And this is the one he is most excited about! LOL!

What's that old saying about opposites?! :0)

Have a truly fantastic day - I hope you are all getting ready for a super-special 2010!!

P.S. All materials Papertrey Ink!

(P.P.S. Sorry about the poor photo quality - not good weather for natural light today so they're a bit dark.)

Papertrey Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog and a VERY, VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL! I hope you had an absolutely *wonderful* day - and that the blessings continue for a long time to come! To those people who celebrated other Holiday traditions - I hope these were a wonderful time for you too!
I received Papertrey products for Christmas - what GORGEOUS presents! I'm absolutely thrilled with every last thing. We have company coming around this evening, but I still really wanted to be a part of the Hop! So to 'hop' in - this is my inspiration for the card I made - these snowflakes on our tree. (From Isaiah 1 v 18)

Here is my card. I used an acetate snowflake on the ribbon bow, stamped the white cardstock with "Polka Dot Basics" then filled some of the dots with colour and some with snowflakes from "Winter Swirls". I also filled some of the gaps with "Winter Swirls" snowflakes too. My colours are Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides and Enchanted Evening.

A close up shot of the acetate snowflake, with rhinestones on the 'arms' for a bit of definition and shine!

And a little bit of Prisma Glitter on some of the snowflakes for added interest too! :0)

And now for the big line that I have been so desperate to say (heeee)
*All* products: Papetrey Ink !! (Except the punch - that's EK Success ;)
So that's it for me - enjoy the rest of the Hop and I hope you find tons of inspiration!

Question and Recipe Share....

A HUGE Thank You to everyone who has visited my blog! Thank you SO much for your wonderful comments - I'm truly blessed! Someone asked about which Cuttlebug embossing folder I used in the Christmas Thank You card. It's this one here.

I was also asked to share my Ginger Snap recipe :0) so here it is (poor Wahinelei was up at 4 a.m. - I hope you get a good sleep soon!)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees (180 centigrade)

3/4 cup soft butter or margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

extra granulated sugar

Method: Cream butter/margarine and cup of sugar well. Beat in egg , add molasses and mix well.

Stir dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture, mix. (I usually have to add a tiny bit more flour to stop the dough from being quite so sticky!)

Roll dough into 1 inch size balls, roll in granulated sugar.

Place on greased cookie sheet (you don't need to flatten) and bake for 10 - 12 mins. Allow to cool on cookie sheet for a few minutes before removing to cooling rack.

Makes about 60.

Hope this finds you all having a blessed day!

My very kind husband gave me 2 stamp sets early so that I could start making some Thank You cards for some wonderful hard working people! I saw this AMAZING post on Nichole Heady's blog and was absolutely captivated by the elegant simplicity of her white embossed cards.

This is my Christmas interpretation - suitable for making quite a few - but still quite special. I couldn't believe how easy it was to line everything up for this with my PTI stamps - and really enjoyed the craft time!

Materials: Stamps - Papertrey Ink (BIG SMILE!!); Cardstock - Bazzill; Ink - Ranger Distress Ink; Embossing Powder - Stampendous; Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Dies - Spellbinders; Prisma Glitter; Zig Glue Pen
Thanks for stopping by!
Best wishes and Smiles :0)

Not My Usual Crafting.....

I have a couple of *little* presents I need to give to people this year - but still want them to be special. I was really inspired by Papertrey's Templates for small, decorative boxes and gift card holders - this is my first try - so much fun!

This was really difficult to photograph - partly because the Star Dust embossing powder doesn't glitter like it does in real life - it's nice and shimmery when you're next to it!

Materials: "Time for Takeout" - template from Papertrey; Cardstock - Bazzill; Leaves - Prima ; Rhinestones - Kaiser; Embossing Powder - Stampendous; Versamark Ink; Brad - Making Memories

Thanks for stopping by! Hope your day is great!

Waiting, Waiting, Waiting......

So I'm waiting for 2 packages to arrive in the mail. Both from Papertrey. How do YOU pass the time....? Funny how time goes by so slowly when you're excitedly waiting for something and yet there still aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done, isn't it?

Hope today is good to you!
