Hellooooo Peeps! I thought I'd schedule a few posts for while we are away - problem is, I haven't had much time to create lately :0( ! I'm already looking forward to being able to create again...sigh. I'm *so* sorry not to have had more time recently to catch up with what you have been doing!

My first card is in honour of the February Papertrey Blog Hop!

I'm sad not to be able to play, because this month we honour the Papertrey Design Team - and they REALLY should be honoured! Always soooooo much inspiration from them.

Dawn is a true inspiration to me! I never get tired of her beautiful cards - and there is something about them that just makes me HAPPY! I always just feel an inner lilt when I look at her creations. With cards like this one - (the super-duper-cute : Hoarding = Bad, Crafting = Good card), she inspired this card I made for my daughter....

I love the way Dawn uses bows on her cards and kept this one fairly small. I also love her solid, but creative compositions.

Heather Pulvirenti inspired the frosting on the cupcake - with her use of Diamond Dust. Absolutely awesome....

I used Heather Nichol's new pastel paper and the Petal Power background stamp here.....

.....and another look at the frosted cupcake - it really does look like sugar!

Photo Inspiration - a Personal Challenge....

Hello Friends! I'm away this week, but scheduled this post so the blog-o didn't lie dormant! Some of you may remember Melissa Phillips issuing a Photo Challenge a while back. The picture came from a site called A Creative Mint - a site I have haunted quite often since then :0)

When I saw this picture I felt really inspired.

I love this picture. I love the mix of delicate pink with the wood, the creamy whorly texture on the cushion, the floral buttons, the handmade textures in the shawl, the packaging at the bottom with nature prints. There is a deep inner satisfaction that comes over me when I look at this. So I decided to use it to make a card.....

The knitted texture is inspired by the shawl, the flowers by the whorl shapes and the buttons, the leaves by the nature prints....the colours speak for themselves....

Materials: Flower and Leaf Stamps, Cardstock, Ink, Ribbon, Button and Twine - Papertrey Ink, Knitted stamp - WaltzingMouse, Pearls - Kaiser; Die - Spellbinders

I have another interpretation coming....but need some new stamps to get it done :0) (Such a great excuse don't you think?!) Heeee!

2S4Y - Kazan's Sketch # 45

The sketch this week was something pretty new for me. I have only made 1 other circular card before in my life :0)!

Initially when I saw Kazan's sketch I thought of a beautiful bloom overlapping the side of the circle somewhere - but when I saw Sarah Martina's gorgeous card in the DT line up, I decided my attempt would probably just look like a faint little echo by comparison!

So I went for something different.

This little birdie once again, hails from my Sewing Box Hugs stamp set. I raided my scrap paper folder, and came up with all sorts of bits and pieces for this card - and I can't remember where any of them came from except the Heart - which is a bit from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey collection!!

I foam mounted the birdie wing and the right hand blossom for a dab of dimension, gave the birdie a rhinestone eye for some personality, crackle glazed the blossom centres and popped in some pearls for interest and used Glossy Accents and a little smear of Stickles over the heart - to keep it the focus of the message.

Materials: Stamps - WaltzingMouse, Sentiment - Papertrey, Basic Cardstock - Papertrey; Dies - Spellbinders; Glossy Accents, Crackle Accents, Distress Inks - Ranger; Rhinestones and Pearls - Kaiser; Ribbon - Offray, Other - Thread

The background was stamped with a knitted texture from "Faux Fun" and the sentiment is from Papertrey's Everyday Button Bits.

When I was working on this card I kept having a niggley memory of someone's kitchen. I can't for the life of me remember whose - but the little dab of red gingham ribbon is a nod to that :0)

Playtime with the Peeps! :0)

Lori has officially issued the very first Papertrey Peeps challenge here. As you will see, we need to use buttons on our project. Lori stretched herself in the challenge, by using a colour that for her is unusual. I found that inspiring.

Here is my button card - with a Lori twist. I associate Lori with very clean, simple cards - a style I don't always gravitate towards. So my personal challenge was to keep the project clean and simple - just like Lori does :0)

Am I the only one who has a difficult time photographing completely WHITE cards??? I used the Everyday Button Bits set from Papertrey, and just scored 3 lines underneath the image with my Scor-Pal.
