Paper Piecing for Baby ...

Our local Baby Donations box is apparently out of Baby Boy cards ... so I'm on the hook for that one :0)

Cath is running a Paper Piecing Challenge at the Moxie Fab World blog this month ... and I've had this idea going around my head since December. So all things considered, the time just seemed right to play with it!

This tree is from Papertrey's "Merry Little Christmas" set ... and I didn't actually buy it for Christmas. It's just the right sort of tree to hang all sorts of goodies on - all year 'round, don't you think? (Including banners ;0)!

The little ride-on horse is from Hero Arts "Precious Baby Boy" set ... and is a wee bit of a stinker to piece, but worth the effort in the end - that image is so super-cute! He's popped up on some foam for a bit of dimension.

Some glitter and a fun ribbon/button treatment to finish it off - and I'm one in for the challenge and one down for the Baby Box :0)

A Blog Hop and Challenge (or Two :0)!

Time to hop again - with scallops as the main course on the menu :0)!

It's always good to keep the chatting to a minimum on these days - so without further ado ....

A Card :0)

When Papertrey released these lovely scallop dies, I almost didn't get this size - and now it's my FAVOURITE ever - so funny how that goes!

As you can see, I got out a few different embossing folders to dress up the scallops with a bit with texture ...

The colours on this card were inspired by the ladies at CR84FN for week 16  (beautiful!) ... and Wee Memories has a challenge this week - to use inspiration from a favourite source in your creation. I've been over at the Moxie Fab World blog prepping for this one - there is always a load of inspiration there!

Just A Happy Card ....

Hi Peeps! Have you seen the new Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World blog? I have been feeling really drawn to white space and bright colours over the past few days - and when this one popped up on the screen, the inspiration was instantaneous! Wooo!

(As Cath would say ... Check it! :0)

So it was only a hop, skip and jump to end up here:

I was talking with someone this afternoon - and there was this amazing tissue box behind them - which gave me the idea of off-setting the flower fillers and outlines in the card! (Hopefully my fascination with the kleenex wasn't off-putting to the lady I was talking to!) Eeep!

Here is a little deet shot - the centres of the flowers are circles punched out of chartreuse cardstock - with a dew drop adhered over the top ...

So there it is ... what FUN it was to put this one together!

Valentine for Daddy

Hi Everyone (BIG wave!! :0)

Gracious I'm really starting to miss playing along with all the fun! Our week away was wonderful - I did some sewing for my girlies (eeep, so out of practice!) and went through lots of family pictures too. It was good.

I came home to some pretty jolly, ENORMOUSLY exciting news ... a Publication Acceptance from Paper Crafts. (SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK!!) I'm a bit behind getting things together now - but hopefully everything will still go through! :0)

Anyhoo. For today, here is a little card to give loads and loodles of love to Daddy ...

The leaf is stamped with dye ink, the veins are embossed over it in gold ... and I found my missing wood buttons - which had been AWOL for what seems like forever. They were on my craft desk and I've probably looked at them every day and just not seen them !!??!!

That only happens to me - right? ;0)

Heartfelt Thanks ...

Hi Peeps!! I thought I would share the card we gave to the vet who attended to our dear dog. She was just one of the wonderful people in the world - who really went to every length she possibly could to help - and was one of the most sensitive people I've met. We appreciated her more than I could express!

My mojo is feeling a little dented at the mo! So I took a HEAPING helping of inspiration from a card made by Carly Robertson, which was featured in the September/October issue of Papercrafts Mag. I loved it when I first saw it - and although the original was a baby card, I felt that it was *just* what was needed!

Here is my version ...

The paper is from My Mind's Eye - Fine and Dandy, Tickled Pink ... and there is a healthy helping of Waltzingmouse goodness in this one!

We will be heading off to the hills for about a week here. My hunkadorus has the days off and just needs to de-brief after all of the emotions of the past week.

Hope that you're having a goodly day!! And if it isn't - I hope that you're blessed with someone who just makes it that *little* bit easier .... like our vet.

I combined "Maxwell's Note" and "Relaxing" to create this little scene ...

Sorry this one is so brief today  - I became 'home' to a new little flu bug last night (urgh) ... and am also feeling very distracted over our DEAR Golden Retreiver, who suddenly has become really ill. We're not sure if she's going to make it through ... :0( I'm just so sad.

She is terminally ill. We have until Saturday morning to say our last goodbyes and then will to go in with her to be with her as she takes her last journey ... (lots of tears here ...)
