Sweet and Scrumpty!

Helloooo friends! Another Saturday - and BOOOHOOO - my last week to play along at Wee Memories! I've had such fun and their DT are totally amazing and so warm and kind! Thank you Jenny and the Wee Memories team for having me!

This week the focus is on paper piecing ... so I decided to scratch out some of my treasured hoard and get snipping:

Yes that really is some Basic Grey "Bittersweet" you see in there! The fun thing about pulling out older paper pads, is that it's a bit like meeting old friends again :0)!

I tried to keep the focus very much on the cupcake - some prisma glitter on the icing and a dollop of Glossy Accents on the cherry. (I'm looking forward to some Sweet Blush ink with a tad more heft to it coming out though! My sentiment would have appreciated it :0)

A Girly Saturday ...

Helloooo Peeps! And welcome to another Saturday! I hope you've had an awesomely good week :0)

Saturday morning means another day to play along at Wee Memories - and it's a day of Girly Fun!

Woooo!! Inspiration just flows out of this one!

I decided to turn to some really fun Hero Arts stamps - which had kinda forgotten what ink felt like, for this one - and decided to give most of the set some inky love - like so:

The pink shoe is paper pieced with some Raspberry Fizz paper and then I heaped on a good helping of Glossy Accents - just in *CASE* someone missed it!!

And it was photographed on some funky green paper just to keep the vibe going here!!

Life ...

Helloooo everyone!

I just wanted to drop in and let you know why I'm so horribly AWOL at the moment...(I know my blog is happening slowly, but my commenting has dropped off to almost nothing - I apologise!!)

I know that there are many people who talk about having a dream. I have had a dream too - and the funny thing is that my dreams are usually pretty dry to other people :0) For a while I have been studying hard - partly because I teach my kids and partly because I love to learn. A couple of months ago I expressed my deepest dreams to my hunkadorus about having the opportunity to study personally, under the tutelage of a couple of my favourite historians/authors/teachers.

In the weirdest Cinderella story that dream has come true. What I never expected to happen has happened. Like an unbelievable novel, where the protagonist just HAPPENS to be in the right place at the right time, and just HAPPENS to bump into the right person, and everything just HAPPENS perfectly ... life really happened and the offer to do JUST THAT was extended without my ever having to request anything. I have always believed in the hand of Providence - but can't remember ever experiencing something so unexpectedly wonderful!

So the point of this post is that my crafty life is having to take a back seat right now. The studying to participate in the course has started. It's hard. It's thought provoking and it's good.  And I am *unspeakably grateful* for this opportunity!

I will be playing the next few challenges at Wee Memories because I promised to be there this month - and I'm sure that when the books get too heavy in between times, I may make a card to vent some of that pent up creative frustration ...

But overall, I do need to take some time off - and I'm so sorry to be such a bad blogging friend. You've been so wonderful to me over my creative endeavors - *THANK YOU*!

I don't know how the next while will pan out. But wanted to let you know where things were at.

All Things Adorable!

Wheeeeee! Welcome to my post for Wee Memories challenge #52! And welcome to Saturday! :0)

I'm having so much fun playing along with the ladies at Wee Memories this month - the challenges have been so inspiring and I think this may just be my favourite title so far ... Awwwww!

I used a little stamp from The House Mouse collection for this card - which features sweet little Monica asleep on a cotton puff.

There is a touch of glitter on the puff and some pretty Organza ribbon to finish it off, with loodles of pink and white for a baby girl!

The winner of this weeks challenge will take home some scrumptious goodies from "Your Next Stamp" - I'm soooooo green!!  Enjoy!

Wedding Day

Hi Everyone!!

Almost the middle of the week already - I can't believe how the days just FLY BY! Getting any crafty time in at the mo?

The Paper Crafts Connection blog is having a challenge at the moment to create a wedding card - and it was just the push I needed to try out something which has been going around my mind for a while ...

Pretty simple but it really does make me happy! I'm kinda sad that it needed to be photographed against a darker background because it loses some of the whispery delicate quality ... but that organza ribbon just didn't show up on a light background at all!

The rose is created using a My Favourite Things die - and was cut from felt. The little tag is vellum which has been heat embossed with gold ...

Now I need to find someone who is getting married!! No one we know is walking the aisle any time soon - hopefully it will keep :0)!!

For this card I decided to break out some Hero Arts goodies ...

... there is also a touch of Stella and Rose Gertie paper in here. I'm really quite taken with My Mind's Eye paper at the mo! Scrumpty!

Some lovely crocheted lace and a row of dinky buttons to finish things off!

It has been a busy week here - but I wanted to squeak under the door for the Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World this week ... it's called "Farm Fresh".

O.K. and if you're wondering "What on earth??!!" you're not alone :0) For some reason I just couldn't imagine limewashed tables with this one ... or lavender ... or blue and white china ...

I just saw retro. Maybe it's a memory of a kitchen I've been in? Maybe it's the blue and orange mix? - but that's where the inspiration took me and it stuck :0)

Please note the fuzzy edges on my cut paper strips (time to replace the blade on my trimmer) that was totally intentional to give them the 'homespun look' - *cough*. LOL :0)

Wee Memories Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone :0)!! Today I have some *mahoosively* exciting news - Wee Memories have very kindly asked me to be their Guest Designer for the WHOLE of April!! Wheeeeee! I'm so happy and have had a little dance going on for a while here now! I have really loved their challenges, and it's soooo exciting to be a part of the fun from the other side for a while!

For those peeps who have hopped their way here - you must have arrived from Jenny's Blog - and know that our colours for this week were to be taken from this inspiration pic: 

And you probably also know that our amazing sponsor for this week is Niki Sivils Scrapbooker ... I had a delicious peek over at her site a few days ago and her papers are totally beyond adorable!! Yummy!! And it sounds like some of that goodness is going into the hands of this weeks Wee Memories winner -  ENJOY!

With an inspiration pic like that the challenge really is wide open isn't it? I decided to create a project that used many of those pretty hues ...

I saw a gorgeous card by Jessica Witty that used a quilted look like this in one of the Paper Crafts issues ... and another quilted card by Laurie Schmidlen a while ago and have been meaning to give a similar idea a whirl ... today's the day :0)



I used a kraft base - because it reminded me of the wood at the tip of the pencils too!
